About me!
About me!
Hello,
My name is James Borley, I am a photographer based in Sandwich, Kent, England and welcome to my website. I’d like to say a few words to introduce myself.
How I got started:
My photography interest started in 2014/2015 when I purchased my first camera: A Fujifilm HS10 bridge camera. I was amazed by the zoom range this camera had to offer. After a short while, I sold the camera to purchase a canon 450D with the standard 18-55mm kit lens.
The Canon 450D spent many months appearing and disappearing from my cupboards at home. It wasn't until August 2018, after a family holiday to Snowdonia National Park that I wanted to further explore my photography adventure. After realising landscape photography was a great interest, I started to watch videos on Youtube and read forums on the internet on how to get started.
I was talking to a close friend of mine about using lightroom and photoshop to process images. I thought to myself, digital processing an image from camera, is this cheating? It turns out, no it isn't!
I decided to try a new camera system, however, I didn't have a clue what manufacturer to choose. At the time, my friend was using a Fujifilm X-T10. He recommended to try a Fujifilm X-E1. It was cheap at the time, £125 for a camera with the same sensor as the top end models. Bargain! Ergonomics were different of course.
As time went by, I purchased & sold a variety of lenses, cameras and gear. To this day I still remain a Fujifilm X Photographer.
I will update my portfolio as my photography adventure continues. My perception on nature, the environment, weather and lighting has changed. If I am out and about, I am always scouting new compositions.
Please enjoy my website and portfolio. If you have questions or you would like photos taken, please contact me directly.
